Curriculum overview-
What do we cover?
Drawing 1
A foundation in drawing fundamentals. Students will explore the basics of form, structure, light, and shadow, while being introduced to essential art vocabulary and techniques they can build on for years to come. The perfect introduction to what a college-level art education is.
Drawing 2
An intermediate course that dives deeper into drawing techniques like cross-contour, chiaroscuro, and dynamic gesture studies. Students will work with more complex subjects such as general anatomy and still life, while being introduced to new tips, tools, and techniques that may be entirely fresh to them — expanding both their skills and creative thinking.
2D Design
This course explores the essential principles behind strong visual composition, including balance, emphasis, movement, rhythm, unity, proportion, and scale. These core concepts apply to everything from fine art to graphic design. If drawing is the skill of execution, design is the strategy behind it — and both are vital tools for any artist!
